Join us at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for an insightful evening with Diane Flynt, orchardist, cidermaker, and author of ‘Wild, Tamed, Lost, and Revived: The Surprising Story of Apples in the South’.
Flynt will take us through 200 years of apple-growing history, from Virginia’s orchards to the deeper, often untold connections between apples, slavery, and Indigenous lands. Enjoy tasting heirloom apple varieties provided by Flynt and a curated cider tasting led by Mackenzie Smith & Taylor Benson, owners of Blue Bee Cider, who will also offer commentary on the current cider climate.
It’s an evening of history, flavor, and discovery!
